We’re honored to have three of our projects in the running for 2025’s AIA Southwest Michigan Awards! 🎉

Alongside the jury-selected awards, there’s also a People’s Choice Award - this opportunity allows the public to vote for their favorite project. Help us spread the word and cast your vote!

Garezers Multipurpose Building - Three Rivers, MI. A new multigenerational gathering space at the American Latvian summer camp, designed to celebrate culture, nature, and social connection.

Adventure Credit Union - Walker, MI. An adaptive reuse project that transformed a once vacant building into a welcoming, human-focused, and sustainable model for future Adventure Credit Union branches.

Cass County, Michigan - Government Historic Courthouse - Cassopolis, MI. A revival of Cass County’s 1899 courthouse, blending historic preservation with a modern civic hub for the community and county administration.

Welcome Matthew 🎉 🙌

From intern to full-time designer, we are welcoming Matthew to the team (again)!

After spending the past year with us as an intern, Matthew has earned his Master of Architecture from Ferris State University’s KCAD program and is now officially joining Intersect as an Architectural Designer.

He’s already been a vital part of the team, especially in bringing our designs to life through some incredible 3D renderings. We’re thrilled to have him with us full-time and can’t wait to see what he creates next.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the power of adaptive reuse and thoughtful design to create spaces with a lighter footprint on the planet. 🌎

Adventure Credit Union challenged us to reimagine an aging, unconventional building into a modern, member-focused branch that breaks the mold of traditional banking. Our design embraced the existing structure—reducing material waste and environmental impact—while introducing smart planning solutions to enhance the user experience.

🌱 Sustainable strategies paired with natural finishes, transparency, and brand storytelling turn this once-forgotten building into a new shining example of Adventure’s brand promise and member experience.

You may have seen this map before, subtly woven into our branding. It’s a Nolli map - an architectural planning tool that illustrates the relationship between public and private space in the urban fabric.

For National Architecture Week, we’re highlighting why we chose this tool’s visual identity for our brand.

At Intersect, we use the Nolli map not for its geography, but for what it represents:
• A pattern of human development
• A balance between individual and shared space
• A framework for understanding how people move, interact, and belong

This perspective shapes everything we do. It reflects our role not just as architects and planners—but as listeners, observers, and systemic thinkers.
