The people you surround yourself with shape the leader you become.

Growth isn't just about what you learn. It's about who challenges you, celebrates you, and refuses to let you settle. Find the people who make your vision bigger!

Most leaders don’t have a vision problem. They have a translation problem.

I’ve sat with a lot of leaders who can articulate where they want to go, but struggle to help others see it in a way that changes behavior. Vision isn’t just something you hold. It’s something you transfer.

If people around you aren’t moving, I usually start by asking how clearly it’s actually been translated, not just stated.

The longer I lead and coach others, the more convinced I become that culture isn't built in the big moments. It's built in the small decisions we make every single day.

I've caught myself thinking, "I'll deal with that later," or "It's probably not a big enough issue to bring up." More often than not, those are the very moments that deserve my attention.

Because what I choose to ignore doesn't stay isolated. It communicates. It tells people what's acceptable, what matters, and what can be overlooked. And over time, those quiet messages become part of the culture, whether I intended them to or not.

I've learned that leadership isn't just about what I say from the front of the room. It's about what I consistently reinforce through my actions, my responses, and even my silence.

That's a humbling thought, but also an empowering one. It reminds me that every conversation, every decision, and every act of consistency is an opportunity to build the kind of culture I actually want to lead.

One of the patterns I've noticed over the years is that leadership challenges rarely come out of nowhere. More often, they've been quietly developing beneath the surface.

The difficult conversation you keep putting off becomes lingering frustration. The unclear expectation becomes inconsistent performance. The behavior you choose not to address slowly becomes the standard everyone assumes is acceptable.

Avoidance doesn't stay contained. It usually accumulates.

I've found that some of the most meaningful growth, both personally and professionally, comes from having the conversation you'd rather postpone. Leadership isn't about avoiding tension; it's about having the courage to address it before confusion becomes culture.

The question I often come back to is simple: What am I avoiding today that my team will have to live with tomorrow?

It's much harder to identify the habits that quietly undermine all three.

What feedback do you consistently hear, but still haven't acted on?

The strongest leaders don't leave their growth to chance. They make learning, reflection, and development a priority because they know their team can only grow as far as they do.

What is one way you're investing in your own leadership this month?

Leadership is full of advice, opinions, and assumptions. Some of it helps us grow, but some of it quietly holds us back.

The truth is that leadership isn't about having all the answers, being the loudest voice, or waiting until you have the perfect title. It's about influence, growth, and the willingness to keep learning.

Which leadership myth do you think does the most damage to leaders today?

Liz Wiseman talks about the difference between leaders who multiply people and those who diminish them. It is not always obvious which one you are. It shows up in how people respond when you leave the room. Do they step up or shrink back? That is usually your answer.

Angela Duckworth has spent years studying grit and long-term success. One of her core ideas is that consistency often beats intensity. That applies directly to leadership. Showing up steady over time builds far more trust than occasional bursts of energy. People follow what they can rely on.

Uncertainty is part of every leadership role. People look to you to see how to respond to it. You do not have to have every answer. You do need to stay steady.
