Operators of properties secured with an AP1 keypad have four ways to configure how a tenant may access a property

1️⃣ Keypad only: traditional pin code entry
2️⃣ Bluetooth swipe on StorID app
3️⃣ Proximity sensing: the gate will open assuming the StorID app is running in the background.

But there is also a secret 4th approach you can take. We call it the hybrid; it typically means that BOTH the keypad and Bluetooth entry can be used. This allows for less-technical renters to use the traditional method and those who are more savvy to go hands-free. Some operators also chose to allow keypad entry during the day, but Bluetooth only at night.

Everyone's been here: you're halfway down the road and you can't remember if you locked the door back at home. Smart home technology has largely made this a thing of the past, but tenants at a storage facility have not had the same luxury... until now.

When your facility installs the ProEdge smart lock, a tenant will receive a notification in their StorID app if they leave the property without locking their unit back up. This not only helps reduce theft, but also makes your facility stand out in the sea of properties.

It can be configured for door control, alarm monitoring, request-to-exit devices, gate access, and even elevator access control. We design our keypads to be multi-purpose, so that no matter what an operator dreams up of doing, we can most likely support it.

When we design products, we not only think about how the end user interacts with it, we think about all the people that touch the product from manufacturing to installation to using. Installers have 3 different ways to commission the lock, based on whichever they are most comfortable with, or whichever is the simplest for the given facility. Installers can use:

👉 Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
👉 QR Code scan
👉 Manual serial number entry

This flexibility helps streamline installations in the field. It's just one of the many ways we engineer smarter products.
