This cheeky group of kitties is the result of taking the class by Art by Cleopatra during the Twotap Learning Summit this week. She taught how to group and copy layers to speed up the workflow when drawing multiple similar characters. This is something I will definitely be doing more of. I made her exercise my own by using It to tell the story of how my mother would take a bite from the bigger piece of cake to even out them out so my brother and I wouldn’t fight over whose bit was bigger. I think now that it was really her only chance to get a taste before it was all gone. A mother’s prerogative.

I have been wanting to revisit an artwork I did for a friend a few years ago, specifically the tree in it. Using Adobe Illustrator, I was able to trace it, stylize it, recolor it and use it to make an art print and several repeating patterns.
