How It Happened!

My specialty is virus removal and prevention and personal system security! Years ago I got hacked while using my Windows computer to conduct a financial transaction. The criminal emptied my bank account and also somehow overdrew my account by over $15,000! Fortunately I had fraud protection with my credit union and everything ended up being OK. My situation could have easily became a life altering event!

I became very interested in personal computer safety and security. I immersed myself into ways to prevent being hacked, virus protection, virus removal and online security. This was all built on my foundation of computer knowledge that began as a hobby when I was 14 years old. As my enthusiasm for computers grew, I learned volumes of computer skills from my engineer dad and then I taught myself even more! When I started college I took several computer science classes, although that was not my major or degree.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee, I remained diligent in learning everything I could know about personal computers. I actually built a desktop computer totally “from scratch” using discarded “dumpster” parts in 1991, that still works today!

After becoming victim of that major computer hack, I quickly realized that Microsoft Windows is the prime target (a magnet in fact) for malware. I installed Linux on my computer, practiced general internet safety and have never had an incident of any kind since then, and that was about 15 years ago!
