Well, it's finally happened. Windows XP is scheduled for retirement, meaning no more updates after April of 2014.

So, what do we use now? Windows 7, 8, 8.1, etc., etc., etc.? Of course not! Now is the perfect time to make the switch to the operating system that powers nearly everything in your world; Linux. The vast majority of web servers and smart phones use it already, so why not you too?

I recently finished a project to bring a client's website back from the brink of hacker death due to an SQL injection attack. This kind of thing is becoming more common and, as we've learned, "big" sites like Yahoo and even Facebook are not immune. It pays to have an informed webmaster.

Forget script kiddies hacking into websites just to deface them with flashing “H@X0rs rulez” messages. Todays attacks are all about the very adult business of stealing and intercepting data to generate profit.
