Happy 818 day to all who celebrate!
Slide 1: “Glendale In-N-Out” 2024
When I first moved to LA, I had a weekly ritual where I’d take myself to the In-N-Out on Harvey on. my day off from my restaurant job. The sunsets were always so beautiful, full of colors I’d never seen growing up on the east coast. I painted this from a photo I took while in line to order a double-double, animal style. This painting sold in April 2026!
Slide 2: “Circus Liquor Car Fire” 2026
I’ve wanted to paint the iconic Circus Liquor since I moved here and then I saw a reel in February that was an electric vehicle fire right in front of the sign, the sign contrasting with the black smoke emitting from the car, adding a sinister element to the clown. I screenshot the reel and then painted it using Procreate
Slide 3: “Glendale Coffee Shop” 2022
There’s a diner in Glendale that is always dressed for filming, so it has no branding or logos, it just says “Coffee Shop.” One night it was so hot I couldn’t sleep, so I went to do laundry at the 24-hour laundromat and saw the sun rise over this diner. This painting is still available!
Slide 4: “Glendale Airbnb” 2022
When I first moved here, Rory and I briefly stayed at an Airbnb in Glendale. At the time I was doing a lot of continuous line drawings that I’d paint with watercolor, and this was the view of the backyard from my Airbnb’s window. Everything in the tiny studio, from the fake wood floor to the fake wood furniture, was gray. But outside the window, the neighborhood had so much color. This piece is still available!
