The New London Strong flood support t-shirt fundraiser officially wrapped up with a check presentation of, $16,993!

💛💙 New London Flood Relief Fund Update💙💛

The generosity of our community continues to amaze us. Thanks to an incredible collaboration between Ledger Lady Bookkeeping, Bastian Marketing, Changing Lives Foundation, Macaport, LLC, Deerbrook Transfers & Gifts LLC, Office Outfitters, and K & Company, along with everyone who purchased a fundraising T-shirt, $16,993 has been added to the New London Flood Relief Fund.

Because of the overwhelming support from individuals, businesses, organizations, and community fundraisers, the Flood Relief Fund has now grown to more than $360,000 that will be reinvested directly into helping New London families, businesses, and nonprofits recover.

We also wanted to share a progress update. Our volunteer Flood Relief Advisory Committee meets every other week to review applications and move through each phase of the process. The good news is we are nearly ready to move into Phase 5. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to ensure the funds entrusted to us are distributed fairly, responsibly, and where they can make the greatest impact.

Please remember that the Flood Relief Fund is just one of several recovery resources available.

If you or someone you know still needs assistance, we encourage you to explore all available options. FEMA's Disaster Recovery Center is open at the New London Public Museum Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There are also additional local, state, and nonprofit resources available to help those impacted.

Recovery is a marathon, not a sprint, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, volunteered, organized fundraisers, or simply supported a neighbor. Every act of generosity is helping move New London forward together. ❤️

After last night's sold out Flood Relief Fundraiser at the High School, it should be apparent just how strong this community really is. Charlie Berens, The People Brothers Band, Joseph Huber, and Abe Auer Comedy gave us a night of music and comedy that packed the auditorium and reminded everyone what New London is made of!

That kind of turnout is not a one time thing around here. It has been happening quietly for months. Changing Lives Foundation teamed up with a handful of area businesses to sell flood relief shirts, and that little idea added close to $17,000 to the fund.

Then there is the driving force behind so much of this rebuilding. The New London Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation keeps working behind the scenes on a fair, honest way to get those dollars to the people who need them most.

Sometimes a website refresh just takes on a life of it's own! The Life Enhancement Strategies website was an exciting project, not just the design, but researching Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy (LET) got me curious. I can happily report - not only is the new website pretty great, but so is Brenda - if you haven't considered LET - you should!
