Don't Let a Screen Share Become a Bank Heist ❗

You receive a text from your bank about suspicious activity on your account. Concerned, you call the number provided. The "bank representative" who answers sounds professional and helpful but then asks you to switch to FaceTime and share your screen while logging into your account.
Sounds legitimate, right?

Unfortunately, it's a scam.

When you share your screen, cybercriminals can see everything, including: 🔓 Usernames and passwords 💳 Account numbers 📱 MFA and security codes 💰 Information they can use to access your money

Whether at home or in the office, scammers use fear and urgency to trick people into giving away sensitive information.
Protect Yourself:

✅ Hang up and call your bank directly using the number from their official website or the back of your card.
✅ Never share your screen with someone who contacted you unexpectedly.
✅ Be suspicious of unusual requests, especially involving FaceTime

New Semester, New Scams, Know the Red Flags 🚨🎓

Move-in season is one of the busiest times for cybercriminals. Students can expect fake messages related to scholarships, campus IT support, package deliveries, job opportunities, tuition payments, and financial aid.

Remember this simple rule:

"If a message is pressuring you to act fast, share personal information, enter a password, approve a code, or click a link, stop, verify it another way, and only then act."

Taking a few extra seconds to verify a message could save weeks, or months of headaches.

- Share login credentials
- Approve a sign-in you didn’t initiate
- Provide verification codes

🚩 It’s a red flag. Every time.
