Had my head down in projects lately (such a blessing). Here’s my latest work for a local plumbing company. L&L Plumbing strives for excellence and quality, putting the homeowner first through honestly and professional treatment.

L&L Plumbing is owned and operated by a firefighter/first responder. This played into the inspiration for the badge design and color scheme. Also red and blue is widely used for plumbing services, using fire truck red, darker blues, and gold accents brings into mind the color schemes found with firefighters uniforms and trucks. The logo design was mostly inspired by Milwaukee power tools. A brand of hard work and excellence.

It’s Palm Sunday. The day we honor to mark the start of Holy Week. The day was talk about Jesus’ Triumphal Entry. The day people laid out their coats and branches before Jesus as he rode in on a c**t. I can’t help but think that while the people stretched out their palm branches, Jesus was thinking about how He would stretch out His palms as he would be crucified for our sins on the cross. Jesus knew that the very same people that cried out savior and king would soon cry out “crucify him.” And yet…he still rode in on a donkey. Humble. In love. As the King of Peace into the city of peace (Jerusalem).

Thank you Jesus for your love. We find it so hard to forgive one another for one or two things and yet you have forgiven us once and for all for those who believe. You are the true King. Not like any earthy King or ruler. So much better.

Don’t underestimate the power of a brand guide. Consistency is key to creating to cohesive brand voice and a brand guide helps you and your creative team (or others outside of your organization) achieve just that. Just having a logo and brand assets only gets you started. A guide shows you how to use the tools you’ve been given.

Design has always been a part of churches to visually communicate messages and ideas. Modern day graphic design aims to to do the same thing. Is your church or organization leveraging visual design to its fullest?
