On Tuesday, Google added a "Data security" section to its Play app store. The function is intended to offer customers safety and privacy standards before they download an app, such as how data is gathered, safeguarded, and utilized.

"We heard from users and app developers that displaying the data an app collects, without additional context, is not enough," Google said in a post. "That's why we designed the Data safety section to allow developers to clearly mark what data is being collected and for what purpose it's being used."

Nasa has released video footage of a spacewalk at the International Space Station.

American astronauts Josh Cassada and Frank Rubio were tasked with installing two new solar arrays - a collection of solar panels - in an operation that took seven hours.

The array was delivered by Space X's Dragon cargo craft on 27 November. According to Nasa, it will provide the ISS up to 30% more power, generating 120,000 watts of energy during orbital daytime. BBC News

The city's police - the SFPD - told the BBC they do not currently operate any robots equipped with lethal force.

Airline passengers in the European Union (EU) will soon be able to use their phones to full effect in the sky. BBC News

The European Commission ruled airlines can provide 5G technology on board planes, alongside slower mobile data.

This could mean flyers will no longer be required to put their phone on airplane mode - though the specifics of how it will be implemented are unclear.
The deadline for member states to make the 5G frequency bands available for planes is 30 June 2023.

This will mean people can use all their phone's features mid-flight - enabling calls as well as data-heavy apps that stream music and video.

Some analysts have warned that the protests and Covid lockdowns have had a major impact on production at what is known as "iPhone City" ahead of the holiday shopping season.

"What started out a month ago as 3% iPhone 14 Pro shortages grew to 5% last week and now are roughly 10%+ of overall units with the potential to increase over the coming month depending on any production improvements from Foxconn," Dan Ives from investment firm Wedbush Securities said.

As BBC News reports, Apple has not put a figure on the impact of the issues at the Zhengzhou production site (The iPhone city) after the latest strikes. However, it has warned of delays in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max deliveries.
