Anthony Edwards is asking a judge to place part of his child support payments into a trust, claiming he fears the money could be spent on sports gambling by his child’s mother, Alexandria Desroches.
Edwards raised concerns about Desroches’ reported use of DraftKings, alleging that she placed bets dozens of times a month in 2025 while arguing that his child support payments were not enough.
The NBA star also accused Desroches of failing to disclose certain income, including cash tips from a second job, and overstating expenses related to their child.
Edwards was previously ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support. He is now asking the court to appoint a trustee to manage part of those payments and oversee how the money is distributed.
Desroches pushed back against the request, arguing that Edwards has not sought parenting time with the child, has never met the child in person, and may not have even sent a gift.
She acknowledged using DraftKings but said her bets were typically around $10 and were placed “out of boredom.” She also said she has since stopped using the account and that her 2025 betting records showed a net activity of $998.20.
The dispute is now before the court, with both sides presenting sharply different accounts of the situation.
