AUGUST 13 UPDATE on the prank calls reported in late July, phishing calls are occurring again. As a reminder, one subscriber allowed the call to play out, and it is a phishing scam. The subscriber has a published telephone number. This caller claimed he represented Millry Communications, cited her account name and telephone number - which is published information - and attempted to get her consent to 'digitize her telephone line' by sending her a digital box. The subscriber reported the caller had an 'unusual' accent for the rural south. Millry is not calling subscribers to check company lines. It does not claim that it is 'digitizing' your telephone (or internet) line or service. It does not 'send you a box'.
If you suspect the call or caller, please check for any caller ID information showing for the caller, terminate the call, and contact Millry Communications Customer Service at 888-227-5710.
