QuickReceipts We're two friends on a mission to create a more useful digital receipt. Our mobile app allows you to manage all your email receipts from one platform.

Follow us on our journey as we share updates of our progress and lessons we've learned along the way.

Hi there! It’s been a while since we've posted an update, but it's been for a good reason. We spent the past year reimagining and rebuilding the entire QuickReceipts experience from the ground up, and we’re excited to finally share our progress with you.

To start, we’ve completely changed how receipts are processed on your device. When you sync your inbox with QuickReceipts, your receipts now process 50% FASTER than our previous publicly available version. Of course, this is all done completely on your device, so your email data never leaves your phone.

We’ve also created a brand new reporting feature that we believe will vastly improve how you create reports. You can now customize, manage, and send your reports with a number of new features. We also now support a quick share option, so you can send receipts in text messages and emails with a few simple taps.

These features, along with many other small details, make this version of QuickReceipts the best one yet. We still have a lot to work on, but we’d really love your help in testing our latest build and providing us with feedback!

If you're interested, please reach out or sign up through the link below. iPhone users with Gmail accounts are our preferred beta testers. As always, thank you so much for your support.

We’ve been heads down in this development process for months. It was nice to take a quick break and just enjoy being friends. ⁣

Here’s a quick update and some thoughts from Ryan.⁣

Every night, we get closer to re-releasing our beta. I was able to cut out a lot of the “fat” from the previous version, and the app feels a lot lighter now. Our ability to process new email receipts is noticeably faster, and we even doubled-down with our user privacy efforts during this development phase.⁣

Did we come across some new programming problems on our end? Absolutely. In fact, I’ve been trying to solve this problem with Amazon receipts for the past few days. It’s been driving me crazy, so I took a quick break to write down some thoughts about programming.⁣

Here’s what it came down to.⁣

Sometimes, programming can suck. I usually feel that way after a few days of really being on top of my game and solving all sorts of interesting problems. Then I come across an issue that I just can’t seem to get around. ⁣

My mind starts to get foggy after looking at the same red lines for a while - I’ll recompile over and over again to try and solve this problem with some ‘hail mary’ attempt. It’s definitely frustrating, but the great thing about programming is that you almost always find a way to solve your problem. ⁣

You constantly get the reassurance that if you really set your mind to it, you come out feeling like you’ve learned something and made some progress. Even though I’m stuck on this issue at the moment, I know I’ll be able to solve it - I’ll let you know when I do! ⁣

Throwback to summer of 2019 when Ryan finished developing our digital receipt API. We shot this quick video as somewhat of a demo to show how easy it would be to get a receipt through a QR code. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We borrowed a family friend’s camera and used Momma Daulton’s office as our place to shoot this video. We did our best to show what it would look and feel like if you were to use this on a or any other iPad POS system. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We made a few mistakes with this API launch though. Aside from a few articles (that we didn’t even share with people in our network 🤦‍♂️), we barely made any digital marketing efforts to raise awareness around what we were building. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We also didn’t reach out to enough POS developers before launching our product. We thought we had a great product that would be easy to sell, but in reality, we should’ve been using their inputs to shape a better product (or avoid this route entirely).⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Not gonna lie, we were really bummed when this didn’t take off like we thought it would - it really hurt. BUT as the great put in his book , pain + reflection = progress, and even though it doesn’t seem like much at times, we’ve definitely made progress.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Next week, we’ll provide an update to where we are with this current phase in our business and what you can expect from us going forward. Thanks for sticking around!⁣⁣

For the past year, we’ve been working towards making a better digital receipt. Here are some problems we’ve been thinking about.⁣

What would make receipts more useful to you?⁣

Hi Facebook! Our names are Ryan and Paul, and a little over a year ago, we started developing QuickReceipts, our vision of a more useful digital receipt. We’re starting with a better way to manage your .

After years of dealing with receipts for write-offs, business travel and food reimbursements, budgeting, and everything in between, we became fixated on the idea that digital receipts could use a much needed improvement. After a year of hard work and navigating roadblocks, we're closer than ever to bringing this idea to life.

We decided to start sharing our journey in hopes of building a community of people who can help shape a better receipt. We also want to learn from YOU as much as we share our experience, so⁣ please stick around and follow our journey!⁣⁣
