Big news in clean energy ☀️🔋

Last week, Meta announced two partnerships pushing the boundaries of what's possible for powering AI infrastructure.

We're working with Overview Energy to bring solar power from space to Earth—satellites collecting sunlight around the clock and beaming it to solar farms on the ground. And we're partnering with Noon Energy on ultra-long-duration storage that can hold clean energy for days, not just hours.

These are the kinds of investments that help strengthen the grid and support reliable power for our data center operations here and across the country.

🌎🧊 April is Earth month — and we're proud to share a closer look at the water restoration work happening in Los Lunas.

Water is a shared and vital resource — and at Meta, our goal is to become water positive in 2030. That means restoring more water than we consume in our operations, while partnering with local communities to boost supply, enhance quality, and protect ecosystems.

In this video, our Water Program leads share what drives this work — and how projects near the Rio Grande are helping move toward that goal.

Through our Data Center Community Action Grants program, Meta provides funding for nonprofits and schools — addressing critical community needs by putting technology to use for community benefit, enabling people to build strong, sustainable communities, improving local STEAM education — to support the long-term vitality of Montgomery. Learn more on this year’s projects:

Alabama Shakespeare Festival: To provide 2,500 public school students with curriculum-based arts experiences and cast talkbacks that bridge the gap between creative arts and academic success.

Brantwood Children's Home: To modernize child welfare services through centralized case management software that improves the tracking of medical, educational and therapeutic data for foster youth.

The Brewbaker Middle School: To launch an early-learning STEM classroom that introduces primary students to foundational robotics and problem-solving skills for future career readiness.

Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama: To equip a dedicated STEM Lab in Montgomery that provides no-cost robotics, coding, and engineering programs to 500+ girls from underserved and rural areas.

Map Three-Sixty: To install sustainable solar-powered lighting for downtown murals while providing high school students with hands-on technical workshops in lighting design.

Montgomery Prep Academy for Career Tech -Mpact: To transform a high school classroom into a digital innovation center where students and families engage in hands-on coding, robotics and cybersecurity training.

Percy Julian High School: To facilitate community events that connect parents and business leaders with AI-certified students to demonstrate the local economic impact of artificial intelligence.

Crump Elementary: To establish a school makerspace equipped with robotics and coding kits to foster critical thinking and provide technology coaching for new educators.

The Pivot Path: To establish Montgomery’s first dedicated adult computer lab, providing 150+ learners annually with workforce-ready digital literacy and GED support.

Wilson Elementary School: To integrate portable interactive projectors into kindergarten through 5th-grade classrooms to create collaborative, multisensory learning environments.

Today is International Data Center Day — and for us, it's an opportunity to reflect on what matters most: the data center communities we call home and celebrating the people who make these communities so special.

In 2025 alone, we supported more than 430 local projects and donated over $11.8 million to schools, nonprofits, and small businesses across our 30 communities in the United States, Europe, and Asia. This is part of our long-term commitment to data center communities where since 2011, Meta has invested over $94 million in 3,700 local projects.

From supporting STEM innovation in classrooms to workforce training programs, revitalizing community parks to helping small businesses grow — we’re grateful for all the partnerships we have with local organizations that are dedicated to investing in their communities.

ICYMI: Meta Announced Nuclear Energy Projects, Unlocking Up to 6.6 GW to Power American Leadership in AI Innovation.

Earlier in 2026, Meta announced agreements to extend and expand the operation of three nuclear power plants — Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo — boosting advanced nuclear technology and job growth in several American communities. These landmark agreements will unlock up to 6.6 GW of clean, reliable power, supporting the next generation of AI infrastructure and strengthening the electric grid.

Meta data centers are at the heart of our AI innovation. Through these nuclear energy agreements, we’re securing clean, reliable electricity to power our data centers — ensuring they operate sustainably and efficiently. We pay the full cost for the energy our data centers use, so local consumers don’t bear these expenses, and our long-term planning with utility partners helps support the broader grid.

These projects are expected to provide thousands of skilled jobs in Ohio and Pennsylvania, add new energy to the grid, and accelerate new reactor technologies. These agreements, along with the one we signed with Constellation Energy last year, make Meta one of the most significant corporate purchasers of nuclear energy in American history.

Our landmark agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo will expand the operation of three nuclear power plants, boost the development of nuclear technology, and foster job growth in American communities.
