NASA's Fourth Annual Robotic Mining Competition will be held in May 2014 at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida. and international undergraduate and graduate student teams to design and build a telerobotic or autonomous excavator, called a Lunabot, that could be used on the moon. The Lunabot must be able to mine and deposit a minimum of 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of lunar simulant in

10 minutes. The team is lead by Timothy Godisart, advised by Dr. Powsiri Klinkhachorn and Lt. Jeremy Anfinson, and mentored by Astronaut Jon McBride. The team is funded by the NASA WV Space Grant Consortium, College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
