The oven at Ferrucci Brick Oven Pizza weighs more than the man who built it, and it is bolted to a trailer. He fires it up in driveways, office parking lots, and HOA lawns — wherever the truck fits, he backs it in. Before this, he was a firefighter for twenty years. The Italian food his immigrant parents carried over and put on the table never left him; eventually it pulled hard enough that he followed it out of one profession and into another. The menu is short and specific. Twelve-inch personal pies: cheese $14, specialty pies — Buffalo Chicken, Meat Lovers, Veggie Delight — $18. A cannoli is $5. There is Italian ice for the weather that calls for it. On Shortlist, the most-searched item on his page, by a wide margin, is the plain 12-inch cheese. People keep asking about it, which is usually what happens right before the word gets out.
This weekend he has three stops. One of them is Clear Pond, Friday at 5. Clear Pond runs on Shortlist, which means ordering just got absurdly easy: residents tap the event card on their home feed and preorder from the truck before they leave the house. You show up, it's ready. The kitchen table his parents built never went anywhere. He just put it on wheels.
