We're excited to welcome Himali Joshi to the team as our newest QA Lead here at ProTop! 🎉

With over 5 years of experience in QA, Himali is passionate about helping teams deliver reliable, high-quality products and crafting a great user experience. She loves being part of the process that gives customers confidence every time they use our products.

Most recently, Himali has been working on digital payment solutions in the fintech space, where she focused on testing complex payment flows, catching issues early, and helping ensure a smooth, frustration-free experience for end users.

Outside of work, you will often find Himali exploring parks and discovering new places around Montreal with her family. She enjoys being outdoors and turning weekends into mini adventures.

Planning family outings with two young kids often requires as much coordination as managing a project at work, and Himali brings that same thoughtful, organized mindset to our QA efforts.

We are thrilled to have her on board and cannot wait to see the impact she will have on our products and our customers.

Paul Koufalis has arrived in Nantes!

He's in town for two Progress OpenEdge events, and he didn't waste a minute before soaking up the local culture. First stop: the stunning Basilique Saint-Nicolas, whose soaring spire towers over the old town. (Fitting that Paul kicked things off under the watch of a saint. Let's hope a little of that blessing carries into his session! 😄)

Monitoring isn’t just about “is it up or down?” The best DBAs use that data as leverage. The ones who stand out use that same data to make decisions that matter beyond the server room.

Three ways monitoring data becomes business leverage:
1. Make tech debt impossible to ignore: When recurring waits, bottlenecks, and noisy alerts all point to the same weak spot, you're not asking for a fix anymore, you're presenting a risk.

2. Walk into budget meetings prepared: "This metric has climbed 20% month-over-month. Here's when we hit the wall." Trend lines and peak usage do the talking for you.

3. Turn war stories into real training: Replay past incidents with your juniors: what signals mattered, what you checked first, what you missed. Monitoring gives those stories structure.
