Gary Vaynerchuk has run the same trade for twenty years.

Buy attention while it’s cheap. Over-deliver on it. Ask once.

1996: email marketing for a liquor store, while the industry ran on print circulars. Cheap Google keywords on wine terms. $3M to $60M.

2006: Wine Library TV. A folding table, a spit bucket, a Jets jersey. A thousand daily episodes, comments answered by hand for years.
2009: VaynerMedia, self-funded out of a borrowed conference room. Clients arrived already convinced, because the web show had been the proof for three years.

Then the same audience carried into Resy, sold to Amex. Empathy Wines, sold to Constellation. VeeFriends into Crocs, Macy’s and Mattel’s UNO.

Four things to take:
Go where attention is underpriced. Keep the format cheap enough to run daily. Let the content be the credential. Carry the audience into the next thing.

Name the platform where attention is cheapest for you right now, then commit to a format you can run every day on it.

He built a C-suite title out of fast food secrets.

Jordan Howlett films in a bathroom mirror. Reading glasses on, leather notebook open, one secret per video, one take. Same frame thousands of times.

50 million followers later, that format paid for brand deals with Bosch, Purina, DoorDash and General Mills, State Farm and Alaska Airlines spots, a food and travel show in development, and a book this fall.

Then in July, Blenders made him Chief Content Officer. He throws his glasses in his videos. The eyewear brand bought the habit and gave him a seat.

Four things worth taking:
Give away something usable in every post. Keep the format boring on purpose. Let the running bit become the deal. Ask for a seat before a rate card.

He still says he works like he’s living in his car.

16 hooks for an audience that’s seen every trick.

They work because they can be checked. A real number. An artifact you can post. A mistake you paid for. A take you’ll defend with data.

All fill in the blank. All stealable as written.

Slide 8 has the test: read your hook out loud with no video attached. If the sentence alone teaches someone something, it earns the post.

Slide 7 is the retirement list — five openers your audience clocked a year ago.

Pick one. Fill it with a number from your own account. Post it this week.

MrBeast has 514 million subscribers. The chocolate makes more money than the videos.

In 2024, Feastables did $250M revenue and $20M profit. The media arm did $246M and lost $80M.

That’s not a failure. Content is the acquisition cost for everything else.

Four things worth stealing:
1. Own what you attach your name to. MrBeast Burger was licensed and the complaints still landed on him.
2. Sell where your audience already stands. Feastables went into 30,000 stores before most creator brands open one.
3. Treat content spend as marketing, not profit.
4. Hire operators before the crisis.
