I haven't had the head to write a post in...
I don't know, go check out when I posted last...😋
But inspiration hit and I'm here to share it.
I'm overly critical with myself. I'm constantly telling myself I'm not doing enough, other people have it all figured out, etc. etc.
I was feeling it especially hard this year, as it was the first year I have no kids home from 9-4, and have the house to myself during that time. Running my business, keeping house has been... overwhelming. Never feeling like I'm giving enough on either side, feeling like I'm being pulled in a million directions.
I just had an epiphany that maybe other busy home keepers can appreciate.
I went to New York for pesach, and we extended the trip for an extra week or so.
Because of that I have been working much less, focusing more on family. (thanks to my amazing team I could do that temporarily!!)
I found that during this time, when I wasn't working, I didn't mind straightening up, doing laundry, throwing together supper. These are things I dread in general, they usually completely exhaust me.
When we came back to Israel, it took a couple days to fully get back to my work schedule. In the in between jetlag days, when I wasn't working, I found myself doing the housework happily again.
And then I went back to work fully. And woah. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I LOVE working. But sitting in front of a computer for hours on end is mentally exhausting!! Who has headspace to put the house together after that? And feed the kids, and laundry, and and and...
And I realized that I'm ok!
I'm fine!
I'm normal!!
It's ok to not be able to do everything the other moms are doing, I'm running a business and it's a lot!
It's ok to ask my husband to make dinner sometimes (or get takeout), ok to hire help, ok that the house isn't perfect!
It's ok to allow yourself to realize that in order to thrive, you need to stop juggling, and hand a ball or 2 to someone else.
So the things that are important don't fall.
