Everyone talks about learning a language, but here’s the part no one warns you about: how hard it is to keep it.

You put in the hours, you hit your milestones. And then... life happens. Meetings pile up, priorities shift, and suddenly that fluency you worked so hard for starts to fade.

Here’s the thing: Language isn’t a destination, it’s a habit. Like any skill that matters at work, it only stays sharp with consistent, real-world practice.

And that’s exactly where most corporate language programs fall short: they sprint to fluency and forget that language is a marathon where you just have to keep running 🏃

What actually works?
✔ Learning embedded in daily work routines
✔ Content that reflects real workplace scenarios
✔ Ongoing and lifelong practice, not just a one-time course

At Voxy, we take all of this into account to build programs that don’t just teach, they sustain 🚀

We asked people what their professional development priorities are for 2023 - and we loved the results!

Improving skills to communicate in other languages AND skills related to work tasks shared the top spot 🏆

We love these results because it shows that we are on the right track by providing a solution that unites both worlds, providing English training for specific work activities, such as conducting meetings and making sales calls, which is perfect for those people who prefer more practical and applicable learning 🤩

Some metrics can tell a whole lot about the way your organization manages L&D. Do you measure these metrics? Or any other metrics? Share your comments below 👇

Employee engagement
Quantifies the quality of employee training. Engaged employees = L&D money well invested! 🤑

Learning completion and attendance rates
Number and % of people participating in your learning and development program. For optional training, this metric tracks how popular courses are. 🧑‍💻

Number of hours studied
Even if it's short, skills-based lessons in small doses, there's no secret sauce. People have to put in the time consistently to get results 🕓

Score/level evolution
After the first assessment, how many levels has the employee advanced since starting the training? 📈

Employee retention
People love to learn 🤓 Comparing retention rates of people that engage vs employees who don't engage in training can be revealing. If the results show engaged employees are more likely to stay, that's a success!

Internal mobility
Number of people getting promoted or handling new positions and tasks on different teams. For example, if you have leadership training and people are being promoted to leadership roles, hooray 🙌

With Voxy, an L&D team has access to a dashboard that provides a strategic view of the metrics that show the progression of the team's English communication skills. When something can be measured, it’s easier to manage!

When you buy a new device, are you the type of person that takes the time to read the instructions first, or are you the type that jumps right in and learns as you go?

According to a Linkedin Learning report, at least when it comes to learning at work, 68% of people prefer to learn hands-on, and that's what Lifow is all about.

Learning in the flow of work (Lifow) is a concept created by Josh Bersin, a global reference in talent management, leadership, employee experience and a consultant focused on corporate learning.

According to him, for continuous learning to take place, learning experiences must be merged into the workflow of the learner.

It's always a good time to express gratitude to those who join us in the journey of creating opportunities for people by breaking down language barriers 🗣️

Today, our special thanks go to PTTEP Group, who chose to invest in Voxy 3 years ago in order to build the team's communication skills, with personalized content and live instruction.

In the photo, the Voxy team presents the PTTEP team with a framed letter signed by Voxy CEO Jan Vivani, thanking them for the partnership 🤝
