Applied Logic Computing

Applied Logic Computing I have been working on computers and designing computer networks for quite some time (over 30 years now), but I specialize in data forensics and recovery.

We design, build and diagnose computer networks and any devices on them. We specialize in data and disaster recovery, as well as virus/malware cleanups, drive replacements and more complicated issues. All initial consultations are free of charge and any questions can and will be addressed as though you are existing clients. We stand behind our work and if there is an issue after any work has been

performed we will resolve it at our own expense. If you are a first responder (Police, fireman, nurse, student, or are in financial distress) we will work with you to reach a positive resolve. You will find that money is not a primary objective with this business... client satisfaction is. All The Best,

Please reach out to me with any questions. I can be reached via instant messenger or my corporate email address at [email protected]. I prefer calls or in person conversations to really understand needs and goals.

As many of you know, I have been working on computers and designing computer networks for quite some time (over 35 years now), but what most people don’t know is that I specialize (have for 10 years now) in data forensics and breach analysis. I do this for corporations, legal cases and quite a few local families. What does this mean?

If your phone died or will not turn on, I can, on most occasions, recover their data, unless they are iPhones (please back them up to your computers and/or to the cloud. The SIM card only contains the devices phone number, not data)
If you have experienced data loss from:

- NAS failure
- accidental deletion
- an unresponsive or unrecognized drive
- a hard drive crash, corruption, or virus
- partition or format issues

I can recover data from a wide variety of storage devices, including:

- Internal or external (USB, firewire)
- IDE or SATA drives
- PC or MAC (depending on their drive types because some were proprietary)
- SD or other memory cards
Depending on the situation and your needs I can often recover:
- complete file structure
- all user files
- specified data types or files

Other services offered:

Breach analysis and prevention from SOAR and Zero Trust Technologies to infrastructure audits to find and identify security weak spots.

Complete network design and installation
Corporate or personal, local or wide area. Corporate or home network inclusive.

Internal training, inclusive of follow-up documents, with regard to phishing attacks and email inspection. Vital for all offices, as well as home systems, where emails can be used to plant worms, viruses and other forms of malware into a system allowing bad actors to steal personal and vital information.

Apple product upgrades for any Macbook Pros, Airs, iMac’s as early as 2011 to Sonoma allowing them to support current software. I essentially take these units and update their drives with Solid State Drives and add additional RAM, if possible and if necessary, (Apple does not allow for this natively) allowing you to properly use and update an older machine, as opposed to buying a new one. This offers a huge financial savings while making the computer viable for both work and personal use.

I am always available to help or just discuss things, but know that I have the hardware to do this type of work and have done so for many families and businesses in Fairfield County as well as NYC.

Feel free to ask questions.

Thanks,

Marc

Please, please, please, back up your data. On Macbook Pro systems made after 2016, the SSD's were soldered onto the system-boards. This is a huge problem because if the machine fails, for any reason at all, your data, if not backed up, will be a total loss. I do data recovery and data forensic discovery and there is not a thing we can do to recover that data.

Buy a NAS, an external drive, cloud services, but do something and verify it.

I owned one of the first network companies in NYC and have been doing this since 1982. My company specialized in designing trading floors and we did so for most of the major players in NYC. I do data forensic discovery for court cases as well, so recovering data is normally not an issue. I will look at any and all computers inclusive of MAC's.

We are looking for corporate clients to build out networks, trouble shoot communications, perform data forensic work, etc. Traveling to a site is not an issue.

We will gladly put together home networks, office networks, wide area networks, etc. We come with our own diagnostic tools and can build out just about anything. I am noted as a white hack, so I understand how to secure environments from hackers, ransomware and viruses. We are in the process of writing a handbook on how to safeguard against phishing attacks in emails. Your safety is our goal!!!

I have made a practice of discounting to students, the elderly and first responders out of respect and concern for their ability to communicate and do their work properly. In certain situations, we can discuss a flat fee for specific types of work.

Students are always welcome.... money is not an issue, your education is.

It’s not about the money.... it’s about the people!

I am so sorry for not being online more, but health issues forced a prolonged leave of absence. Finally got a clean bill of health and back to work.

I can now bring 2013 and newer Mac's up to Sonoma, at least up to Ventura and they run perfectly and fast.

I have been doing all the technical work for Webster Arena as needed and am writing documents for a few corporate clients on how to avoid breaches and how to identify phishing attacks. The breach side of things is totally out of control and everyone should be aware.

I am still doing data recovery and forensic data work, so please reach out if you have a need or any questions.

I do not charge for any questions or responses, so please ask away.

You can reach me at [email protected] and I will respond quickly.

All The Best,

Marc

Please read this article pertaining to the newest scams out there. To many people will open these out of concerns for the Covid19 viruse and it could compromise their data and general information.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) warns individuals to remain vigilant for scams related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Cyber actors may send emails with malicious attachments or links to fraudulent websites to trick victims into revealing sensitive information or....

If you own an Apple computer, I was told by a friend inside of Apple that Mid 2012 machines wil be supported for the next three operating system iterations at a minimum,. Also note that if you have an earlier one, there are ways to install the new operating system on it. PM me for details.

Please forgive my lack of communication over the last few months. I am back and ready to go... had a long stint in the hospital and recovery was a bit rough... I am still building out donated systems for underprivileged kids and resolving local and wide area network issues.

If you use Marriott properties when you are traveling, please watch your identities and card activities... There was a breach that started 4 years ago that is the most significant breach ever seen to the tune of 500 million names. Please be aware of this and if you are not contacted directly by them, you should be proactive and contact their headquarters.

For those of you that are using Kaspersky Products, please note that the EU has found it to be malware and has taken steps to ban it from their deployment into government facilities. I have never been a fan for various reasons, but this is a bit more serious.

Hi Guys,

With any questions, please email me at [email protected] because many people never see my responses in their private message area on Facebook.

Many people have older computers that they are willing to throw out or donate, but I want to suggest upgrading them at a fraction of the cost of buying a new unit. Many of the kids want, or are told they need, chrome books, but any older laptop or desktop will do just fine and offer more options.

Please reach out to me and I will go over the options along with pluses and minuses of any type of conversion, but remember you may already own one that will probably suffice for quite a few years to come.

I still perform data recovery and network design services, as well as accept donations, but I felt very strongly about this situation because the chromebooks have a somewhat limited use and lifespan based on their need and cost.

I have not been overly available over the last 4 months due to a serious illness in the family. Things have, thankfully, calmed down for the moment, so I am trying to get back to helping people. I am still taking donations, as always, just not printers at this point. I have a few older MAC's I want to give away.

Thanks,

Marc
