Come see the show through November 5!

Posted • Kate Therrian Split Graphics posing with her piece, "Thigh Gap #1" during our Opening Reception last Sunday.

Artist Kate Therrian unveils human folly in its many manifestations to reveal the characteristics that make us each unique and also the same. With a wink of humor, Therrian’s work often confronts human arrogance by exploring commonalities that reveal we are all part of a greater whole.

COME SEE ME MAY 20th!✨

Posted • Coming up this Saturday! May 20th, 12-5pm, Open Studios at KUNSTRAUM!

Seen here work by artist member Kate Therrian who you can find in loft 509, please come join us for a fun day of art!

Artist Kate Therrian unveils human folly in its many manifestations, using embroidery, painting, illustration, and photography to reveal the characteristics that make us each unique and also the same.

In her first major body of work, Insides, she explores the form of human internal organs through the traditional embroidery method of cross-stitching. The series of anatomical thread illustrations reveals the complexity of these rarely acknowledged forms and examines our culture’s relation to mortality.

Therrian continues to explore this theme through sculptural work in her newest series, Dust, “family portraits” portrayed through time capsules of collected dust from the family home.

She has also published books of illustrative work depicting the redundancy of electrical plugs and outlets around the world in worldPower and the death of technologies through the years in Where Have They Gone?.

With a wink of humor and a touch of macabre, Therrian’s work often confronts human arrogance by exploring commonalities that reveal we are all part of a greater whole.
