In 2018 we purchased and gut renovated a little cottage about 8 minutes away from our live/work studio in the Catskills, with the purpose of offering it specifically as a guest house for family, friends and short-term rental guests.

This was the first time we got to fully think through and design an overnight guest experience (and furnishings) in a home and execute it soup to nuts.

Some of our key ingredients included
- Smart home features so the home is fully controllable remotely
- A fully functioning and well appointed kitchen, since kitchens in the city often leave a lot to be desired
- Close but open spaces, so one person can be cooking or prepping and another can be lounging or reading or curating the records and everyone still can talk and feel like they are together in the experience.
- Minimal decoration for less visual distraction, so your mind can wander off on its own
- A connected and immersive a/v experience (that also disappears when not in use).

Chicken update: at 4 weeks old. Our studio will be offering fresh eggs along with our creative/strategic services starting in October 2020.

In 2015 we started the design of our upstate studio. We took the leap and designed the building from scratch, from sketches on paper, to drawing in sketch-up, to learning cad and working with engineers on construction drawings. Every step provided it’s own lessons. Everyday we learn something new.

The year before we had a dinner cooked by the chef of in a tree after a wedding ceremony at town hall witnessed by our longtime friend , put together by the team at .. we were so thankful, we had no idea what was ahead.
