HEAVEN OPENS — “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”. — John 1:5

The sky darkens,
gathering its full weight

as if to overtake the light.

But it cannot.

The heavens open
by the will of God

and His light breaks through.

Not faint,
not distant

but powerful,
intentional

sent into the world below.

It falls upon the earth
without resistance

a covering,
a presence

a reminder
that no darkness
can overcome
what is given by Him.

The fields receive it in stillness

and what was shadowed
is made known.

The light shines in the darkness
and the darkness
has not overcome it.

God’s love remains

unchanging,
unfailing

reaching from heaven
into the heart of the world.

This is the promise made visible.
