We visited yesterday, an exhibition by MFA Textiles in collaboration with (UK) and , and powered by art, technology, and information. The show transforms hard data into woven narratives, literally! From migration flows in the Darién Gap to child protection risks in Thailand, post-flood displacement in Pakistan, climate stress on vegetation in Iraq, and internal mobility in Ukraine, each piece turns data into something you can feel.

It was especially meaningful to us. We’ve worked with IOM’s team for years, so we’ve seen firsthand how powerful this kind of data can be when it’s communicated well. These projects remind us that statistics are never just numbers, they’re stories. Of movement. Of resilience. Of systems that need to change.

Creative data storytelling like this matters. It invites empathy, sparks curiosity, and reaches people who might never open a traditional report. What stood out most was the bold mix of data, design, and technology, proving that when these tools are used with intention, they can make even the most complex issues resonate on a deeply human level.

Is Foreign Aid a Scam? 💸❓

It’s easy to question the value of billions spent on global humanitarian aid, especially with headlines about inefficiency. But here’s the truth: foreign aid saves lives.

Consider these facts:
▫️ 6.7M more people are expected to be displaced in 2025. The UNHCR is struggling to meet growing demands for refugee aid.
▫️ 4.2M women and girls are being denied reproductive care due to funding cuts, leading to more unintended pregnancies and maternal deaths.
▫️ 1M people in Myanmar have lost access to food because of funding shortfalls, with millions more at risk of hunger and malnutrition.
▫️ 20M people are at risk of losing HIV treatment due to USAID cuts, threatening years of progress in fighting the epidemic.

These aren’t just numbers, they represent lives. Aid organizations may not be perfect, but there are millions of aid workers on the frontlines, helping millions in need.

Keep the light on the side of humanity. ✨
