The Summer 150 was definitely one to remember for us!

On Friday, Dylan was able to park it in the winner’s circle at Numidia. This track is always full of tough competitors, and in the semifinals Dylan and Sal faced off for the first time in a tight race that was decided by just .001 at the stripe before Dylan went on to take home the big check.

Today marks five years since we lost Sam, and we know he would’ve enjoyed watching that one.

Meanwhile, Peter was at Cecil County for the Divisional and SportsNationals, where he runnered-up in Top Dragster at both races.

All in all, a pretty good weekend for the Biondo family!

Over the season, NHRA has been rolling out a list of the top 50 sportsman racers of all time.

We are beyond thrilled to say both Peter and Sal made their way into this exclusive club, with Peter also being honored as part of the top 75 racers in NHRA history!

As part of NHRA’s 75th Anniversary celebration, a panel of drag racing experts was convened to expand the Top 50 Drivers list from NHRA’s 2001 50th Anniversary season to a roster of the Top 75 Drivers.

Tony Schumacher, Robert Hight, Erica Enders Racing, Andrew Hines and Peter Biondo are the first five of 25 additions!

Vic Ellinger took home the 50k win at the Fling at Norwalk, and the Biondo contingency cash bonus with it! Vic shared a really cool story about an experience he had with Sam Biondo, which led to him trusting us for over 30 years. We wanted to say thank you to Vic and all the racers who believe in us and make Biondo Racing a part of their racing operation!

It’s been just over 4 years since we lost the patriarch of Biondo Racing. But we were reminded a few weeks ago that Sam is still watching us race !

Peter wins pro et at Numidia dragway on August 9th, and the following day Sal was visiting the donkey sanctuary while vacationing in Aruba. Donkeys were Sam’s favorite animal, as he had one as a pet in Sicily as a child. At the donkey sanctuary, there were used license plates for sale, and in top of the pile was Sam’s number gracing the expired Arubian plate. “1432”.
