It's been 30 years and the time has come to say goodbye...

The 24' x 6'-6" Mural of Fantasy was designed and painted by Mary Jungels Goodyear in 1994. The Normal Public Library at 206 W. College Ave. will be closed beginning at 5 pm Saturday, March 30 for asbestos abatement and renovation.

I've been fascinated by the Eagle Nebula ever since I first layed eyes on Hubbles images back in the mid 90's. Most of us have seen it from many different vantage points over the last 20+ years.
I've combined several of Hubbles images from my research, selecting my favorite characteristics from each of them in order to create this painting of the Eagle Nebula.

I envision this might be what its like for a planet to roll down the lane from the pillars of creation and out into an environment so enveloped, as a womb would be. A sort of color vibration of morpheous substances dancing in a wild fire.
