Last week, our Orlando team hosted a CEDIA -certified CEU course on Layered Lighting Design as part of a Greater Orlando Builders Association event.

Owner Toni Scalero led the room through how ambient, task, and accent lighting work together, how smart controls and circadian rhythms factor into great design, and the real-world mistakes that can make or break a lighting plan.

Our Virginia team took this boathouse to the next level with a custom lighting design and installation. Color-wash LEDs flooding the facade, uplights carving into the tree line, in-ground path lights tracing the walkway, and accent lights running every stair tread.

This is what outdoor season done right looks like 😍

Our Virginia team designed and installed a backlit waterfall with smart controls and a full deck and path lighting setup that transforms this Lake Anna boathouse after dark. The aerial view says it all.

The full build also included underlit quartzite bar tops, zoned audio/video, expanded WiFi, and a camera system. Shoutout to Mid-Atlantic Dock Builders, LLC for the incredible build and Lake Anna Photography for capturing it so beautifully.

We’ve been playing with the new Sonos Play and it’s impressive.

It’s waterproof, has 24-hour battery, and groups with other Sonos speakers. But what impressed us the most? The stereo sound. Yeah, that’s really coming out of one speaker.
