Diagnosed and repaired an ASUS ROG Ally X with a no power / dead board issue. Initial inspection showed a short circuit on the main power rail caused by a failed shorted capacitor near the MOSFET power stage. Used multimeter diode and resistance measurements to trace the short, isolated the faulty capacitor, and confirmed the short was removed after component removal. Replaced the damaged capacitor, inspected the nearby MOSFET area for additional faults, and verified stable power rail behavior. After replacement, the console powered on normally and returned fully operational.

iPhone 7 Shorted Motherboard Repair – Dead Phone Fix

This iPhone 7 came in completely dead due to a short circuit on the motherboard. After connecting it to a DC power supply, I noticed high current draw, which confirmed a short on the main power line.
