Since I usually show my pottery’s end result, it’s really here where the work begins. The Illinois native garden is now busy feeding and providing shelter for the insects, birds, and other urban-ish animals, and it will stay standing throughout the winter to do the same. Next spring, after the new growth starts popping through the soil, the dried remains will be cut and burnt. The ash will be next year’s pottery glaze!
