🚨Security Alert: Trezor Third-Party Data Breach🚨

Trezor reported that nearly 14,000 customer records (names, emails, phone numbers, and physical addresses) were exposed following a breach at their shipping partner, ShipMonk.
While Trezor devices and systems remain secure, affected users face an increased risk of targeted phishing and social engineering.
Steps to stay safe:
- Never share your recovery seed: Trezor will never ask for your recovery phrase. Enter it only directly into your physical device.
- Watch for phishing: Ignore unsolicited emails, calls, or texts requesting personal data, account verification, or firmware updates via links.
- Beware of physical mail: Scammers may use exposed home addresses to send fake recall letters or malicious replacement devices.
- Navigate directly: Always type official URLs manually instead of clicking links in messages.

Great example.

Continue to stay alert.

July 31 UPDATE: We just took a report of someone who lost about $2,000 to this same scam. If you get a text like this, do not answer any phone calls from someone purporting to be with your bank after you get the text. Call your bank directly at their customer service number if you have concerns or questions.

ORIGINAL:
One of our deputies said even he thought this scam was real at first. He had signed up for fraud alert text messages from his bank, and this looked like a legitimate one he had gotten before. But when a representative said they would call him, he got suspicious because that had never happened.

If you get a fraud alert from your bank and they ask for additional information beyond "yes/no" or say they'll call, the safest thing you can do is call your bank's fraud department directly, or use the main customer service number on the back of your debit/credit card. Do not click on links in the text message or call a number listed in the message. Keep in mind that scammers can and do spoof bank phone numbers to make it look like the messages are coming from real banks.

When our deputy contacted his bank directly, he learned this was, indeed, a scam text.
