How does SoundSwitch connect with PRO DJ LINK Bridge?
SoundSwitch 2.11 introduces PRO DJ LINK Bridge support, allowing SoundSwitch to receive performance data from compatible PRO DJ LINK setups and keep lighting synchronised throughout a performance.

This graphic shows the workflow at a glance. CDJs and the mixer connect through a network switch, which connects to a laptop running PRO DJ LINK Bridge and SoundSwitch. A SoundSwitch Control One or supported DMX interface then connects your lighting rig, allowing SoundSwitch to respond to playback and performance data from the setup.

Once connected, SoundSwitch can recognise loaded tracks, trigger the associated light shows and keep lighting synchronised with playback, loops, pitch changes and transitions across multiple decks.

The Engine Lighting screen explained. Save this before your next gig.

Lighting should move with the music.

At this wedding, we’re controlling the lighting using the Rane DJ System One, and the SoundSwitch Control One. This DJ controller is equipped with Engine Lighting which can be controlled with the integrated touch screen, but I like having the Control One as a separate interface, so that the DJ controller can be focused on the music.

How do you actually get your lights set up and reacting to music in SoundSwitch?

This is part two of the SoundSwitch Desktop tutorial series. Start with a blank venue, add your DMX fixtures from a library of hundreds of manufacturers including Chauvet, organise your DMX addresses in the matrix, then right-click any playlist connected from Engine DJ and hit AutoScript. SoundSwitch analyses every track and writes a complete DJ lighting show for each one automatically.

SoundSwitch Desktop is DMX lighting software designed by DJs for DJs. It runs in two modes: Edit Mode and Performance Mode. Edit Mode is your workspace, where you AutoScript full light shows for individual tracks or entire playlists using Phrase Detection, which automatically breaks each track into musical sections like intro, main, bridge and outro and syncs lighting effects to each one.

Set up multiple venue configurations so every lighting rig you use regularly is ready to go at the top of the screen. Build Autoloops as a backup light show for any track you have not scripted yet, so you always have something running in sync. Use Static Looks to take total manual control of every DMX fixture, moving head or smart light in your setup. And trigger Live Override FX on the fly via any MIDI compatible device.

SoundSwitch is compatible with Engine DJ, Serato DJ Pro, Virtual DJ and Ableton Link, and supports DMX, Philips Hue and Nanoleaf lighting hardware.
