We don't ask a client's site to hit a standard ours doesn't meet.

That's our own site, checked 4 days ago. We check this again regularly rather than reusing an old screenshot.

Quick one. "Page speed" isn't one number. Google actually looks at three separate things, and the first is called Largest Contentful Paint, basically, how long until the main thing on your page shows up for a real visitor.

Under 2.5 seconds is the target. A lot of sites miss it without knowing.

Most "the ads aren't working" problems aren't ad problems.

The ad does one job: get the click. What happens after that (page load, tracking, the checkout itself) decides whether that click turns into a customer. That part rarely gets checked.

At MyMar Performance, that's the part we investigate.

We run every audit against a real bar. So every so often, I run the same one on ourselves.

Since I'm about to start posting teardowns of what a MyMar diagnostic looks like on other sites, it seemed fair to show the same process pointed at our own page first.

1. What I checked

The same thing we check on every prospect's site: mobile Core Web Vitals through PageSpeed Insights. Not a marketing claim — the actual tool, run against our own homepage.

2. What it showed

Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO all came back at 100. First Contentful Paint at 0.9 seconds. Largest Contentful Paint at 0.9 seconds. Screenshot dated today.

3. Why that's the bar, not a brag

This is the standard we're checking your site against when we run a diagnostic — not an aspirational number, an actual one, on an actual page, on mobile. If we're going to tell a prospect their checkout is bleeding conversions over three extra seconds of load time, our own front door has to hold up to the same test.

4. What would break it

The usual thing: a new chat widget, a tracking pixel added without checking its weight, a marketing tool bolted on six months from now by someone who never saw this post. Scores like this don't stay this way by accident. They stay this way because someone keeps checking.

5. Why one clean number isn't the whole audit

A homepage score is one data point, not a full diagnostic. The actual work is checking this across the pages that matter for conversion ➡️ landing pages ➡️ forms ➡️ checkout ➡️ and re-verifying it over time, not just once for a screenshot.

If people find these breakdowns useful, I'll keep posting them 💥 on our own site and on real diagnostic patterns we run into elsewhere.

Not every conversion problem is a traffic problem.

I see this pattern constantly during technical audits: a checkout or booking flow that isn't broken, exactly. It works. But it asks for the same information twice, in slightly different formats, three screens apart. Nothing throws an error. Nothing crashes. It just adds enough friction that a portion of already-interested buyers quietly give up before the last screen.

That kind of leak never shows up in an ads report. It shows up in the gap between people who start checkout and people who finish it.

The fix usually isn't more traffic or a bigger budget. It's removing the friction sitting in the middle of a process that mostly already works.

If you want a second set of eyes on where your own funnel is leaking, comment AUDIT and I'll send over how the 5-Day Paid Traffic Performance Sprint works.

The number in your ads dashboard isn't a measurement. It's a report from a system — and that system has opinions.

I say this because I keep running into marketing leaders making real budget decisions off numbers that were never actually verified against what happened on the site.

Here's roughly how it breaks down.
Client-side tracking ... he pixel firing in someone's browser ... has gotten less reliable over the last few years. Ad blockers, browser privacy settings, and iOS restrictions all interfere with it in ways that are invisible from inside the ads manager.

You just see fewer conversions than actually happened.

Server-side tracking (Conversions API on Meta, server-side GTM elsewhere) is supposed to close that gap. It usually helps. But it introduces its own failure points ... duplicate events firing from both the browser and the server, event names that don't match between the two, or a webhook that quietly stopped sending after a CRM update nobody flagged as related.

GA4 has its own version of this problem. Sessions get modeled instead of measured once consent signals are involved, and most people never notice, because the dashboard still shows a number. It just isn't the number they think it is.

Then there's the handoff. A lead converts, the pixel fires, the CRM logs a new contact — and somewhere in that chain, the CRM either doesn't report back what happened next (did it become a real opportunity, a customer, revenue), or reports it in a way that doesn't match how the ad platform is scoring the event. Now a campaign that's supposedly "optimizing for conversions" is optimizing for the wrong definition of a conversion.

None of this throws an error. Everything still looks like it's working. The dashboard populates. The reports go out. The distortion is quiet.

The consequence isn't abstract, though. If your top-of-funnel reporting is meaningfully off from what actually happened on the site, you're not making a bad decision on purpose ... you're making a reasonable decision on unreliable information.

Budget shifts toward whatever the flawed data says is working, and away from whatever it's undercounting.

I don't think most marketing teams are measuring poorly on purpose. I think most of them inherited a tracking setup nobody has re-verified since it was built, and nothing forced anyone to look until the numbers stopped making sense.

If you've ever had a gut feeling that a channel was working better ... or worse ... than the dashboard said, I'd be curious what tipped you off. There's usually a reason, and it's usually technical.

A page can look finished and still be slow underneath.

The part most people check does it load, does it look right...isn't the part that determines whether Google, or your visitor, considers it fast.

The metric that actually matters on mobile is Largest Contentful Paint: how long it takes for the biggest visible thing on the page to actually render. Not the first byte. Not the spinner. The moment something real shows up.

I've opened plenty of sites that "load fine" on fast office wifi and stall for several seconds on an actual phone, on actual mobile data, because a third-party script is blocking the render before it even starts.

Design finishes on the screen. Performance finishes in the network tab.

Here's something I keep seeing when I look at ad accounts for mid-market and enterprise teams.

The ads are good. The creative converts on other channels. The media buyer knows what they're doing. And the campaign still underperforms.

Not because of the ad. Because of what happens after someone clicks it.

A slow mobile page. A tracking pixel that's double-firing or missing events entirely. A CRM that drops the lead three steps after the form submit. A checkout flow with one extra field than it needs.

None of that shows up in an ads dashboard. It shows up in the bounce rate, the CPA creep, and the gap between "traffic looks great" and "pipeline doesn't match."

That gap is where MyMar Performance operates.

I'm Marcus, and I spend my time in the technical layer between the click and the conversion — page performance, tracking infrastructure, funnel mechanics, the handoff from ad platform to CRM. Not the ad itself. Not the creative. The plumbing behind it.

Most marketing problems that look like a targeting or budget issue are actually infrastructure issues wearing a marketing costume.

I'll be sharing some of what that looks like in practice over the next few weeks.

I was looking at the latest FTC updates on pricing transparency this morning.

Most GMs are losing sleep over front-end compliance and thinning margins.

They are worried about the wrong thing.
While you are stressing over the front lot, your service drive is bleeding out. 📉

The front lot is vanity. The service drive is sanity.

I recently audited a service department and watched a phone ring eight times while the staff was busy.

Nobody picked up.

That silence cost the dealership a $1,500 Repair Order and a lifetime of customer retention.

In this industry, 50% of your gross profit lives in fixed ops. ⚙️

Yet the average franchise misses nearly 25% of their incoming service calls.

That is not just a "missed call."

It is a $200,000 annual revenue leak that most operators choose to ignore.

With the FTC tightening the screws on car sales, you cannot afford to be sloppy in the back.

At Local Dealer Engine, we do not do traditional marketing.

We build automated revenue recovery systems for mid-sized franchises. 💸
Our infrastructure uses AI missed-call interception and instant lead routing.

We make sure that when a customer is ready to spend $1,000+, they talk to your team, not your voicemail.

We plug the invisible holes in your bucket so your actual profit stays in your bank account.

If you are a General Manager or Fixed Ops Director tired of watching revenue evaporate, let’s connect.

It is time to stop the bleeding and fix the system. 🚨
