The short-lived misfit of Microsoft's Windows 8 is already stepping aside for Windows 9. Can they present us with a better OS this time, or just more silly gimmicks for change-sake?

The Start menu. Cortana. Virtual desktop support! Windows 9 is expected to be officially revealed at a Microsoft event on September 30 and leaks are springing everywhere.

R.I.P., Windows XP. As of 4/8/14, Microsoft will no longer issue updates and security patches for XP. It has reached its end of life. If you have yet to upgrade, I suggest doing so, or at the very least, have a robust anti-virus program. Nearly one-third of all PC's still run XP. In my opinion, Windows 7 is the best OS MS has released. Windows 8- some getting used to, once you install a Start Button.

Howdy, fellow PC Users (Win 7 & 8): if you like and use sidebar gadgets, and wish to keep them working correctly, I advise you to not upgrade to I.E. 11. If you have already I.E. 11 and your sidebar gadgets look funny or some (i.e., the Clock) disappear, uninstall the I.E. 11 Windows Update in Control Panel's Programs and Features, View Windows Updates, and uninstall the I.E. 11 Update. (I think Firefox and Chrome are better browsers, anyway.) Oh, and have a nice day.

ESET software can detect and block most variants of the Win32/Filecoder malware; however, because new versions of this malware are released frequently, it is important that you are receiving regular virus database updates (your ESET product will check for updates every hour provided that you have a valid license and a working internet connection) and take precautions to ensure that your computer is not vulnerable to this infection.

Filecoder malware often accesses target machines using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), a Windows utility that allows others to access your desktop remotely. If you do not require the use of RDP, you can disable RDP to protect your machine from Filecoder and other RDP exploits.
