Hey everyone, just wanted to announce I’m switching the shop to appointment only going forward.
I had someone (not even a customer, lol) being hateful about me not being open during normal hours last week, so I just wanted to clear the air and explain what’s actually going on. About a month ago, I went to the doctor for neck pain I’ve dealt with for years. After a lot of testing, X-rays, etc., I ended up being diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis.
If you don't know what that is, it's a autoimmune inflammatory disease that primarily affects the spine and the joints connecting the spine to the pelvis. Over time, chronic inflammation can actually cause spinal vertebrae to fuse together. Right now, it’s hitting my lower back/hips (SI joints) and my neck (C-spine) really hard, and I’m still waiting on MRIs to see how bad it actually is.
Going from years of doctors telling me wrong information and making me feel like I was just being lazy, to finally finding this out, and jumping from taking no medications to several all at once, including a shot I’ll have to take for the rest of my life, has taken a really heavy emotional hit on me. I’m definitely not sharing this for pity, but I’ve always felt it’s best to just be human and real on social media instead of pretending like everything is always butterflies and rainbows.
Between the flare ups, extreme soreness, fatigue, doctor appointments, and just processing all of this, there’s no comfortable way for me to sit at the shop waiting around. After evaluating everything, 99.9% of my business comes from social media, so keeping set storefront hours just doesn't make sense right now. It’s so much easier on my body to work from home on my computer, and only head into the store when I actually have jobs to print and run.
I am still taking orders as normal and business isn't stopping! If you need to drop something off, pick up an order, or place an order, just text me or send a message here on Facebook and we’ll set up a time for you to come by.
Thanks to everyone who has been patient with me while I get this all sorted out!
