I wanted to talk a little bit about my piece that I made for last month’s Art Battle Philadelphia !
The theme was Wild Woman. My piece for round 2 was inspired by the song Nectar by Raveena . As you can tell, it doesn’t look like my typical synesthesia pieces. This one had to be simplified a lot to accommodate for the 20 minute time limit. But the vibes, colors, and imagery all still resonate with this song for me a lot!

This song is quite literally the embodiment of feminine energy and owning your sexuality. This song is very dreamlike and warm. This imagery and color palette felt so fitting for this song. I’m tempted to make a much larger, and more intricate version of this painting!

This event was one of the most stressful and hectic things I’ve ever done in my art career but it was so so rewarding! Thanks so much for having me Kim Lucas and Kay Buckingham ! And thank you for the awesome pics BlackFyre Photos 📸

There’s something about Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey that feels almost suspended in time. It’s romantic, sensual, and a little haunting.

That feeling became the starting point for Alluring Beauty.

I kept coming back to the lily here. Its beauty is unapologetic when it blooms, but temporary by nature. It doesn’t stay perfect forever, and I think there’s something really poignant in that. Lilies have also carried associations with femininity, purity, rebirth, and transformation, which made them feel especially fitting for this painting.

I wanted this flower to have a kind of pull to it, to feel sensual without being overt, delicate without feeling fragile.

The palette grew out of that same feeling. Pink and oranges surround the flower before dissolving into rich violets and deep blues. There’s something otherworldly in that shift, like the flower is emerging from, and eventually disappearing back into, a dream.

I wish I could say I’ll be less annoying with my posting frequency, but I just have too many exciting things happening!

Announcing my next show at Sophia Stefanowski , featuring my NEW original, Alluring Beauty, that has not been unveiled to the public yet (until today!). This my first small scale piece to be part of my synesthesia series. Making my style of art at such a small scale was a challenge, but challenge has been a theme for me lately. So, I am embracing it.

Come see Alluring Beauty, along with many other beautiful pieces.
