Happy October 🎃 Bookstagram,
I've been on a break since the summer, but now I'm back and starting with "Fourth Wing." Our book club finished this story in less than 24 hours. It's a fantastic read, and we're all looking forward to the upcoming sequel.

Q. Have you read "Fourth Wing?"

I have an idea for a novel. Wish me luck on my writing journey.

📚Synopsis: Inspiring. Intoxicating. Unforgettable. Daisy Jones and The Six is a remarkable story that recounts the rise and fall of the 1970s fictional rock and roll band The Six. Lead singer, Billy Dunne, wrote and produced music with his brother, Graham Dunne. Together, they formed a band with their friends and picked up talented bandmates along the way. After signing a record deal in Los Angeles, the Six meets the up-and-coming pop-rock artist, Daisy Jones. She's spunky, beautiful, and nobody's muse. Daisy lives on her own terms and when she meets Billy, the band reaches new heights of popularity. There will be public feuds and soul-wrenching songs that leave fans wanting more. Join the journey, as this novel dives into the personal narratives of all seven bandmates and their producers, managers, and loved ones. So grab a drink, smoke a bowl, and relive the 1970s with Daisy Jones and The Six.

📚Synopsis: According to the "National Missing and Unidentified Persons" database, more than 600,000 people are missing annually in the United States. Out of fifty states, California has the largest number of missing persons. In 1993, Detective Anna Hart returned to her hometown of Mendicino on temporary leave from her job. She plans to use this time to heal from a traumatic event but is soon pulled into a missing person case. Cameron Curtis is missing. With each passing day, her chances of being found diminish. Her parents are out-of-sorts, the local police department is stretched thin, and the townspeople are eager to find Cameron as they remember the unsolved murder of Jenny Ford - the teenage girl who disappeared and was found dead years ago. Anyone could be the kidnapper. The clock is ticking and Anna won't stop searching until she brings Cameron home, preferably alive.

Two years ago, I came out as bisexual to my conservative, small-minded family. As many can imagine, they reacted to the news with homophobic rhetoric and bigotry. Everyone else in my life responded by either stating they weren't surprised or simply saying they accepted me as I truly am. Not a day goes by, that I don't regret my actions; I only wish I'd done it sooner.

Recently, a friend asked why I came out as I'm married to a man (and have been for six years). This quote resonated with me when I read Taylor Jenkins Reid's hit novel, "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo." She has several remarkable quotes, and for those looking for a fantastic read during Pride Month, I'd recommend this story.

📚Synopsis: "For everyone who has ever been made to feel powerless, trampled upon, or scorned... this book is for you." - Megan Goldin. Meet Sara Hall. Like many young graduates, Sara worked hard to earn her degree and studied under notable professors to perfect her skills. Despite her impressive academic achievements, Sara found herself unemployed and struggling to find a job in her field. Finally, she received an interview at a top financial firm. Sara went with high hopes; however, as she walked out of the interview, she learned that the position had already been given to a fellow fraternity brother, despite his inferior qualifications. As she leaves the building, Sara meets the firm's Vice President, Vincent de Vries. Soon after, she's offered a position and joins the team as an investment banker. The job demands are unreasonable yet the pay is extraordinary. All is going according to plan, until it is not. Hoping to bring the group together, the team attends a team-building exercise - an Escape Room. As they look for clues, the elevator doors won't open. Secrets are revealed, rivalries are exposed, and all will be uncovered as they remain trapped in this metal box. Join the game and see who makes it out...alive.
