Got some sweet swag yesterday from Abacus Creative Resources whilst meeting their sales rep! Stoked to work with A4s after reading Massimo Vignelli’s Canon over the summer. He praised the A-paper system for its aesthetic proportions. Can’t wait to see what this will inspire in the months ahead.

Been a great year so far painting! Ramping up for an upcoming show with J David Carlson at George Fox University! We’ll be installing in a couple weeks. The show, “More Than Meets the Eyes” will be August 23-October 2, with a closing reception September 28th, 4-5:30 pm.

I redesigned this logo after all the hoopla last year when one of these companies tried to change and update their logo and met great resistance from the conservative “don’t change a thing” movement. This is my answer and I even had to use some typography prowess to create a letter to match. Guess which one 😁

I’m a firm believer, observation is the greatest lesson for visual artists. Look, look and keep on looking. When you move onto other subjects in art, you will be more astute to make visual decisions. I used to do this more than I do now, but inspired by the beautiful work of Paul Heaston I needed to do this for myself. So satisfying, almost spiritual… So remember these principles; Courage, discipline and don’t forget to surrender.
