The last few months have been pretty nutso for us. I keep trying to convince myself that this is regular life, but I also know that these periods of transition don’t last forever and it’s ok if I’m feeling overwhelmed! Right?
This last May I flew out to Seattle for 2 weeks to meet my new (and perfect) nephew. 💕While I was out here, Brendon took a temporary (2 month) position in Portland, so I canceled my tickets to go back to Miami and we stayed in the PNW with plans to leave at the end of July. While out here, he ended up taking the job permanently and we started making plans for the cross country move. (Considering all I had was my carry-on bag and he had one suitcase, there wasn’t much we could do by way of packing 😅)
For months we had already had a vacation up to the NE planned at the very end of July, and THANK GOD we were still able to take it. I absolutely love getting up to the Jersey shore and PA💜
After 8 days in the northeast, we flew down to Savannah, picked up Wednesday and our car, and drove back to Miami, where we had 5 days to pack/sell everything we own.
And we did it! But Wednesday and I got stuck for a few extra days in FL because of heat embargos in Portland (she couldn’t fly). After a few days staying with my dad, we were able to fly… but about 30 seconds after I sat down on the plane, I found out that miss princess Wednesday decided to chew out of her crate and get blood everywhere, and that they weren’t allowing us to fly. 🙈
So my mama flew out, I rented a car, and we spent 5 days driving across 14 states.
That brings me to today! We’re all together again and our stuff doesn’t get here for another week, but we’re comfy in our new (empty) apartment. I’m so fu***ng blessed to have a job that I can work from anywhere (including in moving a car in the middle of Kansas) and two families (one I was born into and one I married into) who do so so so much for us. And not to get too mushy, but I’m also blessed to have a husband who works so fu***ng hard for our little family. (And who is also a total babe😏)
So after 7 years in the SE, I’m back in the PNW! AND Brendon is learning about this PNW life. ❤️
