Just did a new Tantara Hour episode on clasic latino ballads. It should play on BYU radio at 6 p.m. wed, thu, and fri this week.Latino ballads have been a secret passion of mine for sometime. Segment two features a reunion with one of my favorite bolivian musicians Raul Allyon.

Mike was my first engineer. He stayed a long time until graduation, and helped me get the hang of the show. He's now at Velvet Echo Studio in Provo, making music for several libraries.

Working on four upcoming shows at the same time. They'll bob to the surface one by one: 1) From the Tantara/BYU Records catalog "Heartsongs" by the Young Ambassadors. Strikingly good recording and mix by Jordan Roper, a talented student not that long ago. 2) My accidental discovery: Susie Arioli, from Montreal, who sings the American Songbook with such impressive commitment and her band is gypsy-style. What? Boiled down, that usually means two acoustic guitars. Toward the style of Django Reinhardt. 3) Latino music of today. With all the world music I've covered--even Tejano--I haven't touched upon the mainstream. That music has been important to me at two stages in my life. 4) There's a great jazz pianist right here in Utah. One that could have been successful anywhere. Craig Larson. I've played individual cuts forever, but have never done a whole show with him. We'll see how all this turns out!

Regarding the photos of people associated with the production, there's one I have to add, and quickly. As of September 1, 2014, I've been associated with Blue Cadenza Music, owned by Robert Seely, my current engineer colleague. Gotta get his photo on here. As I've come out of about a three year nap and determined to tend this site even if I (truly) don't have time, I've been astonished at the number of likes and other responses. Heartwarming.
