As a designer, I LOVE showcasing my clients' work, which is why I absolutely adore my profession 🖤
However, I often neglect to share the origins of my personal creative heart and where I come from.
Growing up on the coast of Wilmington, NC I immersed myself in lots of warm pastel colors and sunshine. Wilmington is a mix of a small modern beach town meets old historical buildings with charm.
I have been inspired by art & design since I was young, taking art classes when I can and reworking my Tumblr page over and over again to make it “perfect”. I was also gifted a Canon EOS camera in my high school days and I found a lot of inspiration by taking car rides around town with my gals to take photos together.
I also take a lot of inspiration from my college days in art school surrounded by artsitic souls and learning the ins and outs of art history, architecture, furniture designers and of course graphic design. This was the time I started to learn my love for collaging and textures and I’m thankful for that time of my life.
Speed up a few years, I was moving to Miami not knowing a soul and in pursuit to see where my new design career could take me.. and boy! It was tough. I even gave up graphic design for months to work in the fashion industry (Nordstrom) lol because I was fed up with being bullied at my first real job as a designer. Thankfully I got out of the “no more designing” funk and pursued a full time job as a designer in the luxury fashion industry which in return led me to learn a lot about myself. It helped me discover that my creativity wasn’t being sparked and that I should start posting to Instagram for fun. Well here we are with a whole business and all ✨
Looking back now, I see that my diverse array of inspirations has heavily influenced my design approach. I have developed a style that interweaves the past and present, creating a captivating mix that breathes new life into the art and design we see today.
Ultimately, my goal is to remain true to myself and inspire other women, such as yourself, through my work 🖤
