HAPPY ALIEN DAY!
Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing weekend! For those interested, we’re releasing this fun new print in anticipation of Alien Day on Sunday!

The initial plan was to have them available on Alien Day only but we just determined it would probably be best to make them available for at least a few days so everyone that wants one has a chance to get them. The prints feature glow in the dark inks and will be screen printed on “Thatched” Foil paper stock! Follow the link above for more info and to purchase. Here’s is my story on the creation of this piece..

A few years back, I discovered there was actually an Alien Day! It is an annual celebration held on April 26 (4/26) to honor the Alien sci-fi film franchise, referencing the moon LV-426 from the original 1979 film. This franchise to me is the perfect mix of creativity, sci-fi, horror, character development, and I’ll even say science. The fact that the godfather of biomech was the creator of the Xenomorph and the face hugger (H.R. Giger!🖤) made these movies even more special to me.

I’ve had the honor of painting a mural at San Diego Comic-Con for one of the video game adaptations, and I’ve even done a few drawings here and there to pay tribute to this day. This is the first time however that I was able to make the time to illustrate and produce a print for this joyous occasion! This is not an official licensed piece, it’s just me being an artist and creating something that I truly enjoy. Well that’s all, hope you guys like it! Thank you!! 🫶🏽

THE ART AND THE MUSE

Art for me is the opportunity to communicate and depict stories, messages, experiences, and emotions. Somedays an escape, somedays just marks, and somedays my entire world. When it comes to this image, it was everything. There are stories upon stories, inspiration, and reasons. Every line has meaning, every stroke with intention. As the hours passed, I continued to form this image, one that burns within, a story that needs to be told. As foolish as the heart may be, it leads me to her day after day, night after night. While the world may see a crazy fool, with my queen, I now stand a king. For she is my queen, she is the reason, and she is my muse. This is my art print for April and the muse that inspired it😊🖤

-I PUT A SPELL ON YOU-

I am currently working on a new series of prints that I will be releasing monthly throughout this upcoming year. I am calling this series “PAINT YOU WITH MY LOVE”. I am exploring songs, music and movies that have resonated with me when it comes to the story of love.

The first one I’m releasing is “I Put A Spell On You”, inspired by the 1956 song by Screamin Jay Hawkins. This song was well beyond it’s time. I also really enjoyed Manson’s cover of it which played part in influencing me to create this image.

These prints will all be in a 12” x 36” format. I’ve always enjoyed this composition, possibly because it has an OG skateboard feel to me, idk, but I really enjoy it.

Oh, one more thing, these will be a pre-sale and will be numbered according to the amount ordered at that time. They will also be on an assortment of foils stock, however, like a blind bag, you will not know which foil you are ordering until you receive it. There will be very limited paper stocks as well.

Super thankful to my longtime friend, Mr. Andrew for having me out to paint their new family restaurant out in Pomona. Food is so good too!! Thank you guys for trusting me, I hope I did the family right with this one.
I have enjoyed exploring so many different topics and concepts this year. Want to thank my crew at Studio242 as well🙏🙏
