Over the last four years, I've led something of a double life, with one foot in creative pursuits and the other in software development and design. While the technical pursuits are more lucrative, it keeps me stuck in that left-brain mode, which makes it highly difficult for me to switch back to anything creative.

Although I recognize I have a talent for software and process design, it tends to be an all-consuming mindset - my mind has to constantly solve problems. That tends to s***f out any creativity. As a result, half-finished paintings would literally gather dust in between sessions.

More recently, I've recognized that health and happiness don't come hand in hand with that heavy technical focus, so with the new year, I've resolved to focus on creative projects. In March, Traversi Media became SMT Creative Inc.

SMT Creative will promote smtart.com and its retail presence, as well as offer graphic and web design services for businesses. A rebranded site is up at smtcreates.com with a new one in the works.

While still working with building out the new smt art store, the brunt of my time has been spent assisting Clark Pacific, a leading manufacturer of prefab buildings, in migrating one of their main software systems to the cloud.

While I tend to market the more creative capabilities of Traversi Media, Inc., I also have 15 years experience specializing in custom integrations. Simply put, I build middleware that connects organization's data and processes. While many companies can function using only off-the-shelf software, those organizations that are excelling in their industries need increased capabilities through fluid data sharing across the enterprise and more efficient processes.

While it is true that custom integrations can be costly - from taking a deep dive into the business, its industry and competitors, to understanding enterprise software and the data - it's often far less than laboring under systems that don't serve the business' needs fully, as well as inefficient processes and analytics. Looking at the entire organization, how much time could be saved optimizing system - and people - processes?

A not so new brand of tmi, smt art, has a new store offering original paintings and limited prints, photographic prints, and home products. I created all the art, as well as took the photos, so these are unique and products of what I'm passionate about.

Finished up a 4K version of an animation sequence I had created. This wasn't done for a specific project, but just to keep the skills sharp and add to my content library.

Posted a lower resolution of this segment and was happy with it until I watched on my 55" 4K TV and immediately hated it. So, I re-rendered and put together ...
