I built voice control for Dropshot through the Apple Watch.

Say “we won that,” “undo,” or “switch sides,” and the scoreboard responds without a tap.

It’s been sitting in beta since June because I’m not sure which option players would actually prefer during a real game.

Voice would be completely optional. You could still swipe your Watch or use the remote.

Our entire company is on one pallet, headed 1,600 miles to PickleCon in Kansas City. We built the booth, tore it down to prove we could rebuild it fast, and shipped it all with nine days to spare. 🚚

And that very bright scoreboard on the pallet? Dropshot will be keeping score on the championship court all weekend.

“What’s the score?”

If you play pickleball, you heard it at least 5 times last session. The rally ends, everyone looks around, 4 players have 3 different numbers, and the point gets replayed.

It’s not a memory problem, it’s a pickleball problem. Score, server number, serving side… all tracked in your head mid-rally.

We built Dropshot so nobody has to be the scorekeeper. Big LED display everyone can read from across the court, updated from a clip-on remote, your Apple Watch, or the app. No phone needed during play.

Because it’s the one shade your eyes catch between rallies, from the back court, in direct sun. So we built a scoreboard around it.

What do you grab when the evacuation order comes?
For me it was 100 scoreboards.
A brush fire started down the road from my garage.
One acre.
Then thirty.
Then ninety.
I run Dropshot out of that garage. About 650 scoreboards and my Jeep fits 100. The rest stayed.

stopped it before it reached us. Planes, helicopters, ground crews showed up fast and did what they do. Forever grateful.
