Pro Deo Creations

Pro Deo Creations Making the world look better through affordable photography, videography, graphic design and event planning. Pro Deo means "for God" in Latin.

When I began Pro Deo Creations my focus was on providing affordable photography to families that otherwise may not be able to have family photos taken. I wanted my work to be a service to God and not about what I could earn. Since then I have branched into graphic and event design - and more recently video work. About me:
I earned my degree in journalism and mass communication (with a strong passi

on for design) from Abilene Christian University. I joined the Army as a public affairs specialist creating a variety of products for my commanders. After leaving the Army I became a copy editor for a newspaper in Kentucky, making my way up to a Monday Community Edition designer/editor. I then worked at Fort Sill as a writer/photographer/publication designer/videographer for their post newspaper (then Cannoneer - now The Tribune), before moving to media relations and then finally as the communications director for Long Range Precision Fires (the Army's number one modernization priority). I have photographed and videoed portraits and weddings from West Point to Oklahoma to South Korea, created award winning articles, publications and photographs (my favorite once hung in the Smithsonian American Art Museum).

I met the bride at a leadership course and was honored when she asked me to film her wedding. There was so much love during the ceremony and so much energy at the reception - an absolutely wonderful celebration!

Sixteen years ago a series of avalanches struck the Salang Pass, a major route between Kabul and northern Afghanistan.

Our unit took to the skies with Chinooks transporting survivors from the highest tunnel in the world. Our Apaches provided overhead security and helped locate other survivors. Our medics worked to the point of exhaustion helping more than 260 patients.

And I took this photo - of a friend and medic - who was checking the vitals on a baby. This photo would later earn me a Keith L. Ware award as well as a Department of State award.

It is one of my favorites.

✅ Adorable kid
✅ Perfect Christmas photo!

My favorite way to photograph children is by letting them play rather than pose - but when you have a giant tree and a dapper dude, you’ve got to take advantage of it! 🎄
