Local artists, Alex Dragoni and Jennifer Gordon collaborate to bring you some amazing imagery caught right here in the Gulf! About the Artists

Alex Dragoni is a native to Redington Shores, FL. A local fisherman and artist his entire life, Alex has recently expanded his skills in Gyotaku. Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese method of rubbing fish with ink on rice paper. Gyotaku means Gyo (fish) Taku

(rubbing) in Japanese. Thai Unryu is the special type of rice paper used in his pieces. Using acrylic paints, Alex displays a wide spectrum of colors to capture natural looks, bright colors and metallic varieties. He tries capturing the soul and essence of each fish he rubs for every fish has its own features, characteristics and personality. A fish will live and die, but a rubbing will last forever. Jennifer Gordon is a native to St. Petersburg, FL. She is a silver smith and jewelry designer and also has been shooting in the photography industry as a hobby for several years. She often joins Alex and dabbles in a bit of Gyotaku herself! Alex and Jennifer collaborated their creative efforts as a couple to bring you original, one-of-a-kind Gyotaku rubs of fish caught locally, right here in the Gulf of Mexico.
