Our first production run has hit Australia and USA is coming in the next week. We can’t wait to see more families taking purposeful breaks from technology and living a better life.

Exciting news!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of receiving the first batch of LOOTBOX into Australia. A special shout-out to our friend Joel for the use of his helicopter hangar for dispatch. We couldn’t help but drop a couple photos in at the end.

Victor was the first to enjoy the unboxing experience. He was pretty proud seeing his design work come to life.

Some of you lucky Kickstarter or Indiegogo backers will have received your LOOTBOX already, others in Australia will get yours in the next few days. You should receive a tracking email from us too. Canada received theirs last week which is awesome and Europe/Asia should be in the next week. Unfortunately, the USA ship is running very slowly and we only just got updated that it will not arrive until the 6th August and then another 6-10 days to get from port to you if there are no further delays. So sorry to all our USA backers for the long wait, but we appreciate your patience.

This is our first production run – as backers you are the first in the world to get a LOOTBOX! Any feedback or questions will help us continue to develop the best product possible to help families find better screen time balance.

You will notice a QR code on the box handle. This takes you to our FAQ page on our website with information on how to install the smart sensor app, installing chargers and other helpful tips. We will add to this page as we get your questions and insights.

We hope you love having the LOOTBOX in your family as we have ours. Keep us posted with any feedback, stories, or encouragement. You guys are the best!

The OOD house is a mirrored stand alone cabin with amazing interior design. With solar energy they can be located just about anywhere.

Super excited to say final checks have been done and Lootbox orders leave our factory today for those lucky limited early customers.

Our Insta Live fire-side chat over a cup of tea was exploring “Technology for a better us”, starting with Lootbox as a case study.

We explored issues surrounding some concerning global macroscopic trends and the role of technology - statistical correlations between prolonged screen-centered lifestyle and rising society-wide mental illness, increased manufacturing and decision-making automation through AI and its effect on employment, the way we feel as humans when we positively contribute to the community around us, and the importance of face-to-face communication and physical contact to be a healthy “us”.

Technology can be a problem or a remedy.

It’s not about politics. It’s ultimately our choice as a community, as a society. How do we want technology to shape us? What decisions do we need to make, together?

A treehouse in a remote wilderness with a skatepark brings out the kid in all of us. Imagine the freedom, the views, the forest smells, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. The Cinder Cone was built by blogger & photographer Foster Huntington and friends on a stunning pocket of land in Skamania, Washington.

Life is full of amazing possibilities & endless adventures if we seek them out. For us creating the LOOTBOX was a way to help inspire more creativity away from technology, getting outdoors with our kids, or maybe even building a tree house & a skate park one day...

Currently working on our new packaging design for LOOTBOX and super happy with the progress. The current issue is that most products ship a retail box within a shipping box to avoid any damage to the retail box, but using unnecessary amounts of cardboard. We have opted not only to avoid using internal foam and plastic, but also to have the shipping box and the retail box as one and the same. Does this mean you get an ugly shipping sticker on the box that ultimately gets recycled anyway? Yes sorry, but it’s a small price to pay for the environment. We are also using recycled and FSC certified card from responsible sources.

We can’t wait to get the first shipments out to our lucky first backers in April this year. Thanks so much for your support and patience 🙏🏻

Wishing you all the very best for 2021. Thankful for everything 2020 has taught us, but glad to see it pass. Last few days we have been lucky enough to have amazing family time in the mountains away from the busyness of the city.
