May the 4th Be With You!

When I was a kid, I didn't just want to watch Star Wars. I wanted to build it. For a while, working in visual effects was the dream.

A huge part of that was Ralph McQuarrie.

Before a single frame was filmed, Ralph painted the galaxy into existence. George Lucas used his paintings to convince studios that the first Star Wars film was worth making. Every iconic image you carry in your head? Ralph put it there first.

The images I'm sharing are just small, cropped details. His full paintings are breathtaking. Do yourself a favor today and check out his complete body of work. He didn't just design a film. He imagined a universe.

Happy May the 4th to everyone who ever looked up at the stars and dreamed.

The new Port Lumber Corp. website is live!

Our team at Lighthaus Design partnered with Port Lumber to build a modern, high-performing site that better reflects their expertise as Long Island’s leading marine piling and lumber supplier, showcases their product range, and makes it easier for contractors and homeowners to find exactly what they need.

A standout feature of this build is the flexible backend product table system. Port Lumber can now add, edit, and reorganize complex inventory tables on their own, customizing rows, columns, and checkmarks to indicate what’s in stock in real time. This level of control is something most standard WordPress setups struggle to deliver, and it was a big win for both usability and scalability.
