May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we are talking about it! π§ ππΎπΏβ¨
From my ankle injury in December to my hand surgery in January, the last several months, being secluded, being in pain, struggling like every other small business owner, my mental health took a steep decline. Then add perimenopause, with some serious unknown health issues, itβs the perfect storm for depression and anxiety.
We had a preplanned hiking trip for everything happened and I only got the OK from my doctor less than five days before it. The sheer joy on my face from being able to just be out in nature, not just walk but actually explore on uneven surfaces, with Bruno and Ian, was everything. Connecting with family and nature is a simple but powerful way to support your mental health. πππ
It is so important that not only that we talk about it, that we remove the stigma. Everyone can benefit from stress relief, universal healthcare, access to therapy and tools to help us navigate and thrive.
What are you doing to improve your mental health this month? Maybe talk a walk, listen to the birds, and enjoy getting outside. βοΈ
